I'm a very satisfied user of OpenDNS, but ran into a strange problem today with the web site http://www.Ted.com (the "Ted Talks"). I could go to the site and see pages, but the site's video player wouldn't play any of the videos.

It happened even though this site is on my whitelist, and no relevant category was blocked anyway (including video sharing). When I unblocked *all* sites, the player worked fine.

Any idea why this might happen? But all of a sudden, the sites I was blocking like roblox, youtube, and other violent gaming sites is assessable now if my child types in the address. Why is that? I didn't change anything thing. All my specific sites that I chose to "always block" are still listed so why is this not working. It was working just fine for about 2 months since I began using OpenDNS. I even clicked on the highest block option box and still those gaming and video sharing sites are NOT BLOCKED. Can anyone help?

After this change, suddenly I get a blocking page when I try to go to Flickr! Surely this is a bug? First of all it was not blocked when using the old APN settings, secondly I doubt that the ISP would choose to block Flickr. Hi,

I have just started using OpenDNS as it was recommended as a way of restricting Internet access for our kids.

I have set the Games block to come in at bedtime and what do I find!? The domain block has adverts for games! And instead of Animaljam or Clubpengiun they are being offered zombie ans shoot-em-up games!

Okay, so the links to most of those games are themselves blocked. But amazingly not all of them.

While I understand OpenDNS needs to sell advertising space to offer a free service, I am not so sure allowing adverts that completely subvert the purpose of site blocking are at all appropriate. No games adverts on the games block seems the simplest of rules.

I am now watching this closely but it looks like I have to find another way to protect my home network.
