Hello,
I use dns-o-matic to update my IP number for both openDNS as well as three domains I manage at zoneedit. It works very well.
One question: when my IP number changes, dns-o-matic updates "mydomain.TLD" and "www.mydomain.TLD". How do I get it it to update something like "webmail.mydomain.TLD" as well? Is this something under the control of dns-o-matic or this an issue with zoneedit?
FWIW, I use the "wildcard=YES" parameter when updating dns-o-matic.
Thanks. -

Personally, I only update the TLD in zonedit and everything else is set as a CNAME to my DynDNS domain, so it does not need to be updated in zonedit. And by everything else, I also mean the www.etc. I use my router to update the DynDNS domain the moment the IP changes, and software to update my TLD with zonedit (and my OpenDNS IP).
That means that even if my TLD update fails for whatever reason, it does not really matter since most visitors come to the www.domain or any of the subdomains. But since those are CNAMEs, they are always up to date as long as my DynDNS domain is updated properly. -
Thanks, redprince. Useful tip...
