Hi there,
i have a technical question about using OpenDNS and an VPN provider.
I set my router to use OpenDNS. Now if i tunnel my connections (Linux) with OpenVPN to use the VPN provider, is it right that the requests for DNS are going straight to the OpenDNS servers without using VPN ? I use the OpenVPN client in Linux on my PC and set the DNS servers in my router. So am i right ?
Thank you. -
No, you normally will use whatever DNS service is configured on the remote VPN end.
Also, to resolve the VPN names at all, you may need to add your VPN names to the VPN exceptions list.
