I use OpenDNS and it works fine, but when it's about blocking pornography there are some failures.
Although I set up Family Shield DNS, it still does not block pornography.
Some other DNS's like ScrubIT and NortonDNS block it with no problems. Why? -
Definitely, you did something wrong.
What message does this show? http://welcome.opendns.com/
Also, post the complete plain text output of the following command (exactly as you see it!):
nslookup www.exampleadultsite.com. -
This site has been blocked and most of other porn sites are,
but also there is a bunch of sites that are accessible without any problems.
I set DNS: 208.67.222.123
208.67.220.123
I also blocked categories like: Adult themes, Dating, Proxy/Anonymizer, Tasteless, Nudity, Pornography, Lingerie/Bikini, Sexuality, but still when I type e.g. www.pitajme.net I can access it, as well as many porn links on that sites.
Then I tried to chande DNS to e.g. NortonDNS: 198.153.192.50
198.153.194.50
and you guess, the same site is not allowed.
It seems to me that database of porn links is not good or updated.
So, please OpenDNS do something about it. -
Didn't you read my message above?

"still when I type e.g. www.pitajme.net I can access it"
This site is categorized as you expect. http://domain.opendns.com/pitajme.net
As you fail to provide the information I asked for, I do not see a chance to help any further. So use NortonDNS if it does what you expect it to do. So easy! -

How about you do something about it? When a find a site that should be tagged as porn and isn’t, submit it (click on Domain Tagging above), like everybody else does. It’s a community effort. Thousands of new domains are registered every single day. -

If you created an OpenDNS account and have customized the categories that you wish to have blocked, you should be using DNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. FamilyShield uses static category blocks, so your customizations will be ignored, unless using the default name servers.
Please try changing to the above primary and secondary respectively and flushing your DNS resolver using the instructions at http://www.opendns.com/support/article/67
