We have had problems sending out Mail this past weekend. A lot of our customers who use popular domains like yahoo hotmail and gmail are no longer returning any mail. So we ended up having to use Google's DNS servers.
Why was the MX feature removed?
C:\Windows\system32>nslookup
Default Server: localhost
Address: 127.0.0.1
> server 208.67.222.222
Default Server: resolver1.opendns.com
Address: 208.67.222.222
> set type=MX
> gmail.com
Server: resolver1.opendns.com
Address: 208.67.222.222
*** resolver1.opendns.com can't find gmail.com: Non-existent domain

We are having the exact same problem coming from any client we have that uses Exchange and OpenDNS. Is there a status update on this, we are having to do the same thing to resolve the problem by using Google DNS. We need this to be resolved so the filtering on OpenDNS can be put back in place.
Will OpenDNS support Please respond -
Will users please open a support ticket. This here is merely a user to user forum.

We are as well. I have switched to my provider's DNS so that emails would stop failing and opened a ticket. -
nslookup -type=mx gmail.com.
