Router instructions: Virgin Media Superhubs - has anyone got Virgin to allow DNS changes?
Bottom of Page1 to 3 of 3

I know that there has been some discussion - but at the moment it seems that Virgin do not allow the changing of DNS on their Superhubs (that are a combined Vable Model and Wireless Router).
I assume that the only solution to this is to configure the Cable Modem as 'Modem only' and buy another router where I can handle the DNS myself.
To be honest the SuperHub is pants as a wireless router and I had already removed that use of it, but has anyone else found another solution with Virgin?
Thanks,
Jason. -

Copied this from a Virgin Media Forum, now i'm VERY confused.
" Netgear Live Parental Controls - OPENDNS
Options
on 22-05-2012 10:15
Using he latest Netgear Live Parental Controlsconfiguration app (http://www.opendns.com/download/windows/netgear/) I have succesfully changed the superhub DNS settings to use Opendns. This requires a free OpenDNS account.
After running the Mangement Utility, a reboot of the SuperHub is all that is needed.
VirginMedia should make OpenDns DNS a feature of the SuperHub esp for households with youngsters as the OpenDNS webfiltering via the SuperHub can not easily be bypassed and works for all devices connected to the SuperHub."
Now I'm trying the link and it doesn't exist. All other info on the net says that the Superhub is locked, and there's no way of adding open DNS in the settings. Anyone help??? -

The Superhub is likely not technically a Netgear LPC-capable router, so you nay not be able to use LPC or otherwise void any support or warranty from Virgin.

edit: Note that LPC does not use regular OpenDNS accounts, but accounts unique to LPC. If you use this, delete the network from your Dashboard if you have added one, and uninstall the Updater if you have already installed it.
