If my child resets the router, will the parental controls stop working? Also, if the router is reset, is the router data erased from my account? Or will it let you still make changes, but not actually execute the changes?
Thanks,

"If my child resets the router, will the parental controls stop working?"
What exactly do you mean by "reset"? If you run an Updater, you should be fine. Or are you using a Netgear with LPC?
"Also, if the router is reset, is the router data erased from my account?"
If your router is reset to the factory defaults, you lose any settings on the router and probably internet connectivity, not so your settings at OpenDNS. You normally don't have router data at your OpenDNS account.
"Or will it let you still make changes, but not actually execute the changes?"
Sorry, I don't understand this. What is "it"?
You would need to provide more information, what Updater and router you're using and what OpenDNS addresses you have configured where. And what problem you have.Thankful People: peep186 -

Reset to default factory settings.
And to clarify, for example: If I were to block pornography through the opendns website after the router has been reset, will it just do nothing, or will it prompt me with an error message.
Thanks,

Will what prompt you with an error message? In short, no. Of course, you can always check whether you are still using OpenDNS: http://welcome.opendns.com If not, then of course there will be no filtering.
Can your child make changes to your router or OpenDNS account settings? If you allow the child, then yes.Thankful People: zelus -

Keep the router out of the child’s reach. Place it in a locked room in the attic or such. And of course, do not use the default password on any device but replace it with a hard to guess password which you keep to yourself.
Or, just discipline the child when he does it. Children only do naughty things if they can get away with it.
