That's not support, that's a download. Always fixable by going to the main githunb page or searching github if the URLs have changed. https://github.com/opendns

I don't see a current deb package, but you can always roll it yourself (use FPM) or just build from source. There was a complete rewrite at 0.10 and now 0.11 is out. I don't know if they dropped most packaging or not, as there is no release ver 1.0 yet. But I would suspect pkg distribution should be handled more appropriately upstream by by your distro. https://github.com/opendns/dnscrypt-proxy

I wasn't getting to that page at all.

Anyway, pardon my confusion as well.

"* Version 0.11:
- A new tool, hostip, can resolve host names before dnscrypt-proxy is
started. This should help resolving chicken-and-egg problems on
routers, as reported by LanceThePants."

Yep. Just checked and the githubbishly obscure downloads link works for me now. Must be mouse failure on my end.

edit: But the links given in the blog post referenced in the OP are yet bad.

The content of the git repository on Github is basically a copy of what's on my laptop at a given time. This is ongoing work towards the next version. This has only been tested on OpenBSD and OSX. The code may be unstable. Or it may depend on things that OpenDNS resolvers don't support yet, thus fail if you try now.

TL;DR: Don't use this code unless you know what you are doing. Like, you are a developer willing to contribute some lines of code.

The Changelog file has been updated, but that's in preparation for the next version. The most recent tag is still 0.10.

Stable releases are extensively tested, then tagged, then the tarballs are uploaded, along with iOS binaries. Then the OpenBSD/Bitrig port is updated. Then the DragonflyBSD/NetBSD and FreeBSD ports, the Homebrew formula and the fpm script are updated. Then, Windows binaries are uploaded. Linux packages usually come last, but that's still at max a couple hours after the tarballs have been uploaded.

The blog post is old, and was directly linking to whatever the current version was at that time, which is now a totally outdated version. Github is where the actual action takes place, and where releases are uploaded.
