I have a Destop hosting internet connection. And i connect it with a BELKIN wireless G router and cabled it to my laptop in order to have shared internet connection..
Now, when i cabled it from my laptop to the router.. it appear a red cross between network and internet in the network and sharing centre in Windows vista...
when i doing network dignostics, it identify as cannot communicate with primary DNS server....
How to solve this problem??? any1 can help? -
Not sure if I understand you, so let me assume:
The problem occurs only if you connect your desktop directly to the router, right?
Where do you have the OpenDNS servers set up, on the router or on the computer?
You may post the output of "ipconfig /all" here, so we will have a look. -

I too am a little lost.
I think having an ipconfig /all from both the desktop and the laptop might help us out. Does/has the laptop worked in any other configuration? Where have you plugged the internet cable in, on the routers internet port or on one of the network ports?
Just fill us in with the network setup and we will see what we can come up with.
