Domain blocking: Problem with live Messenger

    Hello,
    I am using Open DNS with low filtering level (protects against phishing and pornography but since I can't no longer use windows Live Messenger?does someone have the same problem?can you help please.thanks

    Hi,
    I had the same problem, just Allow these websites

    status.messenger.msn.com
    messenger.msn.com
    messenger.hotmail.com
    gateway.messenger.hotmail.com

    "msn.com" covers all of status.messenger.msn.com, messenger.msn.com and other subdomains, same as "hotmail.com" for messenger.hotmail.com, gateway.messenger.hotmail.com and all subdomains. You may need to add "live.com", "akadns.com", "msn2go.com" and "passport.com" as well. So your "never block" list would look:
    akadns.com
    hotmail.com
    live.com
    msn.com
    msn2go.com
    passport.com

    Edit: It may also be a good idea to add "microsoft.com".
