Hi there,
I had content filtering set to custom, blocking all pornograhy sites, nudity, etc. Now my webmail is being blocked, craigslist. Even after I've changed my settings to nothing blocked at all, I am still unable to access these sites. Help! -
Check at http://www.opendns.com/support/checker/ if this "craigslist"(?) is possibly tagged in a category, which you had blocked, before you disabled filtering again. If so, add it to your "Never block" list.
Also, flushing your browser cache and local DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns) is crucial after each such settings change. -
I agree. Opensdns blocks sites that are harmelss. IMDB.com blocked as a movie website - yes, it does have movie information, but no videos. What we have here is a few people who like to block everything they can.
I'm no fan of opendns. -
"Opensdns blocks ..."
Unfortunately you are totally wrong. OpenDNS blocks NOTHING, beside phishing sites and Conficker domains! It's only YOU blocking things, while selecting specific categories you want to block for you only. It's YOUR decision - or the one of YOUR network administrator, in case you don't own the network.
What you can complain about is the tagging practice, and here I tend to fully agree with you...
Edit: Beside this, it could well be that there is a problem of a similar kind...

actually IMDB tagged as movies is 1 of the more reasonable tags.. places that streamed movies would be video sharing.. IMDB is for Movie Information, and I beleive that is more what the movies category pertains to..if you want IMDB unblock the Movies category or whitelist it.. -

they just need to snip the definition they have of movies
Movies
Sites that promote movies (or offer movie watching online.)
Sites that offer movie watching online would be Video sharing IMHO..
Snip the part in ()'s -

seems like the Television and Movies both need to be trimmed.. or Television watching /movie watching online makes the categories too broad.. just leave that to Video Sharing..
