Just gonna re-up a closed thread I started. I am just wondering when we can expect opendns to have v6 name servers.
BTW, http://ws.arin.net/whois/?queryinput=2620:0000:0CC0:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000 I know its coming but, getting a little jumpy in wanting to know. -

IPv6 won't become more widespread until people start supporting it. The progress on this is just too slow! -

infinity306 & evilcougar,
I am a sys admin for a small ISP and once I can prove to my higher ups that IPv6 is needed now I can push it through hopefully for our users. One way to do it is to point out the sites and services that are supporting IPv6. Till then I am doing experiments on my home network and thinking on how to integrate it nicely into our existing systems.
Daniel Gilfford,
That is the kind of time frame I was hoping for, but I understand if the mark can not be met. If you need any testers or someone with a tunnel setup and running their home dual stacked, I am willing to help in anyway I can. (I wish my ISP handed out v6 addresses, for now it's tunnelbroker.net) -

Well given that IPv6 is being used by less than 1% (1) of all computers connected to the internet, I don't see that there's a big rush to IPv6.

I use it! And yes, I use HE for IPv6.

Edit: And see here, how urgent this is!

There are certain advantages to using IPv6 when using IRC.
HE provides an efnet irc server at irc.ipv6.he.net.
IPv6 seems to throw the script-kiddies for a loop when they try to use their various tools to try to knock you off of irc.
Sure, it's only a matter of time before the script kiddie tools get reworked for IPv6, but until then, I have fewer headaches.
Oh.. and I put my home web server up on IPv6 yesterday, so there's one more IPv6 available web site to add to the list :-D -

@maintenance Yes, people that haven't had proper training in implementation of IPv6 will make mistakes.
No news here..
