If i have a laptop and a desk top on a home wireless network, what advantage is there to put them both on "OpenDNS"
I am new to this and want some advice.

Hi Bernard,
Have you looked at:

This will help you to set up your computers on to it. -
Hi Bernard,
The advantages of having them both use OpenDNS is that they will both get the benefits of being on OpenDNS.
The benefits of OpenDNS include
1. 100% uptime. Some of the biggest "Internet Outages" have been from DNS Servers at the ISP, using OpenDNS means that you can still access websites.
2. Site Filtering. You can choose what sites you want to let your computers visit, and which ones you want blocked.
3. SmartCache. Another feature to help the Internet never go down.
4. Site Filtering. Want to block certain types of sites, or just some sites in particular?
OpenDNS lets you do this for free... and keep the lists (based on type) up to date too
5. Logging (Optional). You can have the Domains visited logged, this is useful if someone using your network says that they couldn't access a site - or if OpenDNS says that it detected suspicious activity on your network.

Also, if you are able to configure the OpenDNS server addresses on your router, you can save the efforts to configure it on the computers. Router covers all devices in your LAN.
