Domain Name System (DNS) troubles: CacheCheck is right but when I use OpenDNS, I get sent to the wrong page?

I've been having trouble accessing my church website (www.newlifesf.org) when I use OpenDNS. I have Comcast and when I use their DNS, I get sent correctly to the site. When I use OpenDNS, I get sent to a different ip - it looks to be some kind of Google page. I tried CacheCheck and that seemed fine so I'm not sure why this is going on. I've tried setting OpenDNS on just the router and just the computer and both, nothing changes. I also flush the DNS cache everytime I changed settings.
-
What are these IP addresses?
-
Comcast and CacheCheck resolves it as 99.19.128.58 When I use OpenDNS, it goes to 74.125.53.121 (ghs.1.google.com)

That's the Guide - what you get for NXDOMAIN. The site seems to have the CNAME set up weird, in my inexpert estimation. Use www.newlifesf.org and it works just fine, but newlifesf.org doesn't work.

Well I knew before that newlifesf.org didn't work so all my attempts were with www.newlifesf.org Thanks for the input though!

@gobias18
74.125.53.121 (pw-in-f121.1e100.net, not ghs.1.google.com, the latter does not exist) is not the OpenDNS Guide. The browser seems to initiate a regular Google search, so you really may get NXDOMAIN, thus suspecting that you may not be using OpenDNS. See http://welcome.opendns.com/
And yes, use http://www.newlifesf.org/ - this works for me. Not so newlifesf.org.Thankful People: maintenance -
But when I go to the welcome.opendns.com page, I see the "Welcome to OpenDNS" and "Thank You" and the rest of it. I know I'm using it, I've been using OpenDNS for 3-4 years now, but its only been recently that I've been getting these errors.
Maybe I should clarify the 74.125.54.121 ip. When I put in the www.newlifesf.org address into the browser, I get "Not Found. The requested URL / was not found on this server." When I ping, run a trace route or do an nslookup is when I get the 74.125.54.121 ip.
For example, this is what I see word for word when I do a nslookup on www.newlifesf.org.
Server: resolver1.opendns.com

Oops, this changes the picture dramatically!
As you are in a different part of the world, you get other results than I get. This is normal.
And the good news: your problem is not DNS related at all. The message "Not Found. The requested URL / was not found on this server." is a HTTP 404 error and does already come from the www.newlifesf.org server.
And now the bad news: As @maintenance and I can view this page without problems, but you get redirected to a 404 page, I would suspect your current IP address or range could be blacklisted, and their webserver prevents you from viewing the page.

Are you using Google Apps to host your website. If so then it's most likely a Google Apps problem. If not, then you have a bad DNS record out there that's pointing you to Google Apps hosting and of course it can't find the site.
-
This is interesting. I'm not sure if they are using Google Apps to host the website. I had also thought about that before - Its a possibility but I am not sure. I guess my question now becomes how does everything work fine when I use Comcast DNS? When I change over from OpenDNS, my ip stays the same, so I'm not sure how the address could be blacklisted only part of the time. If there is a bad DNS record, could I only be accessing that when I use OpenDNS but somehow access a good DNS record (are there multiple records?) when I use Comcast DNS?
-
Possibly. Someone else had a bad record and it was causing a problem similar to yours.
-
Could the problem somehow be specific to my computer? I just tried another computer on my network that also has OpenDNS on it and it worked fine. I've flushed my DNS cache several times. Is there something else I should do/try?
-
That is odd. Try deleting your temporary internet files / cookies.
-
My last bit of advice won't help since it is the reply you are receiving that is incorrect.
Try rebooting. After that, I'm out of ideas. I can't get that IP address back no matter how hard I try. You probably want to open a support ticket to see if they can help you out. -
@gobias18
Can you please check your hosts file for any suspect and maybe related entries...
I know, this would not explain the difference between OpenDNS and your ISP, but who knows...
And also, do you currently have configured the OpenDNS server addresses on the router, on the computer, or both? You may post the output of ipconfig/all here. -
I've deleted the temporary internet files and cookies, rebooted and checked my hosts file. Hosts file only had one entry (127.0.0.1 for localhost). Nothing's changed. Here is my ipconfig:

Your ipconfig output looks fine. You have OpenDNS configured on the computer yet. Sorry, I ran out of ideas now, but your problem is likely not DNS related, as you can reach the site and get an HTTP response.
