I recently enabled open DNS on my home network and right after none of my computers can print on my network printer. Is it possible that the change to open dns could have caused this or is it just coincidental. I check my router setting and nothing seems amiss.
Thanks for your input. -
Yea, if your printer uses some sort of local.lan.addr or other "notation".

@dtwave - use the Typo Exceptions settings in your account and add your printer name.

Network printer issue:
Since enabling opendns on two of my LANs (several peer to peer winXP machines accessing internet via Netgear router DG814), i have found that the n/w printer will not print with the user account, but will print when logged on as administrator.
The cause appears to be related to resolving the printer Host Name.
As soon as I changed the printer port configuration to look for an ip address rather than Host Name I was able to print with the user account again.
The strange thing is that even after disabling openDNS on the router, re-booting the router, and running ipconfig /flushDNS, the pc would not print until I changed the printer port configuration. Obviously OpenDNS left a calling card of some kind on all my LAN PCs!!!
I have still have not re-enabled openDNS as I'm concerned that the printer problem may still be around.
