"I have changed my router and computer settings."

For DNS servers? Do one or the other, not both. Router is preferred.

"How does the button thing work?"

    What button thing?

Hope everything is running smoothly for you. Enjoy!

P.S. The updater should notify you in case you are not using OpenDNS.

(Still curious as to what button you were asking about.)

Well, under My Account, there is a button on a sharing page, that says,"Using OpenDNS" and it comes in different styles. I thought that I could download it, and it would be embedded in a url page, or at the bottom of my task bar, showing me that I was indeed connected to OpenDNS. I do click the link and it tells me that I am connected, but after I shut my computer down and re-start it, there is no visual thing anywhere on my desktop that tells me that I am using the OpenDNS server. That would be a useful thing for me. Is it possible? thanks again. Great product. I will probably upgrade after I evaluate it.

I see, your are talking about http://www.opendns.com/about/share/
Just downloading the picture would not work at all.
You can create a desktop web link http://images.opendns.com/buttons/use_opendns_155x52.gif , not one you click, but as desktop web object displayed, which probably does what you want to achieve.
Both pictures come from the same URL, but from different sites (yes, this is possible with DNS!) The one indicating you are using OpenDNS would be from a site with IP address X, whereas the one indicating not using OpenDNS would be from a site with IP address Y.
