I would like to disagree, p0rn "naturally" comes often along with nudity and may be deemed as "adult" content. However, these sites clearly are dedicated to p0rn, i.e. this includes everything p0rn comes along with. Clear tagging counts, not overtagging. I'm sure you could find dozens of elements of categories also at a p0rn site, but there is no reason to use them all, if the purpose is clearly one. Just use the most relevant only.

Also, on the other hand, there are many sites dedicated to nudity which are absolutely not into p0rn, and the category Nudity is clearly for those sites, not for p0rn. Even worse if it comes to "adult sites". Would you say that http://www.times.com/ is suitable for children? No? Aha, an "adult" site!
    See what I mean?

    All 3 have been approved.

I know you're going to disagree rotblitz, but to me and according to my guidelines junkieporn should be tagged as nudity. There are clearly nude pictures on there.

Obviously it is a porn site as well.

I hate overtagging as much as you, but I have to look at each site and decide which category it belongs too. The fact that it is already approved as pornography doesn't change the fact that if you went and looked up the official definition of nudity, the 'nudity' tag would apply as well.

In other words, I'm not categorizing websites based on what category they're already in. If something is in porn, I can't disapprove a nudity tag because of that. More often than not both would apply.

Sexuality is generally applied to fetish sites, and if there are nude pictures or if there is porn content than those tags have to apply as well.

Adult themes, IMO....apply to sites such as sex toy sites, dating sites geared towards sex, etc, etc. It won't actually show nude/porn content. If it does it would get tagged that way as well.

Its impossible for me to look at any porn site and say it shouldn't get a 'nudity' tag. There is always someone voting no, and I know its you, and everytime I go over my guidelines and I have to humbly disagree.

    :)

Yes, I disagree, but don't worry. I'm sure you're doing a brilliant job.
    Thanks for all your efforts!

I would be able to greatly elaborate my reasons, but this forum would probably not the right place. Just a reference: http://forums.opendns.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4030#Item_14

    Hey I don't disagree.

The only way I would tag a site under 'nudity' is if there is absolutely full nudity, front or back. Clear explicit nudity. In other words, a visibly exposed next area with a low cut shirt isn't 'nudity' to me.

Anything less than that, say someone in their underwear...whatever, I would disapprove for the nudity tag.

But, I can't help it if someone sees a picture of someone without a lot of clothes on and they run and tag it as nudity.

Ok, my comment (hopefully the last ):

Glad to hear that our definition of nudity is so to say congruent.

    However, regarding tagging:

"The only way I would tag a site under 'nudity' is if ..." it clearly concentrates on or is dedicated to nudity. You will find (full) nudity *everywhere*, whether its on search engines or documentaries or art sites or serious magazine/news/TV sites or whatever, but you hardly would tag all of them under nudity - because they do not concentrate on or are dedicated to this matter...

P0rn sites also do not concentrate on nudity, but on - guess what!
Or in other words, nudity at p0rn sites is rather an accompanying necessary effect, not always to be avoidable somehow, so not purpose of the site...
If they could avoid nudity, they probably would...

The issue about the relationship between the adult categories really confuses me. It's discussed above without a clear conclusion. Should an XXX porn site be also marked as Adult and Nudity? It can hardly be porn without qualifying as both! In which case that tagging should be automatic, as a bundle. Or else it should be clarified, as the Adult category description suggests, that it is for Adult themes not already covered elsewhere. OpenDNS should clarify this: is the intention that there is a hierarchy, with Porn a subset of Nudity, which is itself a subset of Adult?

Explicit p0rn is p0rn, no need to tag it with something else. If you have checked the category, it is blocked for you. No need to tag it any further, as it fits the purpose already. After my opinion a site should be tagged as to what its main purpose is, i.e. what it is dedicated for.
Expecially, it's the main purpose of p0rn sites to show p0rn, not necessarily nudity.
And the "Adult Themes" category is anyway defined as "Sites that are adult in nature and are not defined in other rating categories".

rotblitz, that makes sense to me, but this really ought to be clarified, because such actual and attempted duplicate tagging seems fairly common. The categories tab under Domain Tagging really ought to explain this better - and maybe a category description ought to be loaded as well when people are deciding Yes/No. Perhaps this should be a new idea for the Idea Bank, if it isn't already there in some form.
