Whenever I add a ad site to block like ad.doubleclick.net the "Back" function no longer works on any sites that have ads blocked on them. Not a real big deal just annoying. Anyone have a fix for this? -
For me it works perfectly. You just can't block sites that, for example, don't have a special address for ads (i.e. http://ads.uol.com.br), but a general one in which they also include content stuff (i.e. http://www.uol.com.br/img).

@sanjuantech - which browser or browsers?
I have only noticed it in IE7 right now since I am currently not running Fire Fox -
You may want to try using a new hosts file which has doubleclick and a bunch (thousands!) of other nasty sites listed. You can read about it here;
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
The only downside is you need to update the hosts file on all computers in your network but its really worth the time!

@chrisbold:
Not true about the downside. I put the hosts file in my company DNS server's settings and all advertising hosts resolving to our intranet server (which give 404).
It's better than redirecting to localhost, because there are no timeouts involved (unless you run webserwer on localhost - try HFS and see the difference for yourself).
Moreover, you can grab many "hosts" files in the Internet, and merge them in one suitable place. -
I think Chris was referring to a normal home network.
I have used this freebie to manage the HOSTS file for some time ( in windows ).

for firefox users there's always adblock https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10 coupled with filterset.g updater https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1136
Plus, Spybot S&D 1.5 is now able to use it's immunize feature for both IE & Firefox to block many of the spyware suppliers.

No, for Firefox users there's always Adblock Plus https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 coupled with one of the filtersets listed in the Subscriptions dialog or at http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions .
