If tor network is blocked on the ports in router, what will show to the user using it? will they know it has been blocked and will it stop them accessing any site at all. for instance could they use it and access unblocked sites and not know the proxy part isnt working. or will it block everything

    thanks

    See http://forums.opendns.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3917
    And also https://ssl.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/nbbwssl.cgi?Gw=block+tor+on+the+router

"If tor network is blocked on the ports in router, what will show to the user using it?"

Difficult to foresee, but likely something like "a connection could not be established".

"will they know it has been blocked and will it stop them accessing any site at all."

They may have the idea that it has been blocked. Depending on how you did it, your measures shouldn't prevent them from accessing anything else. Whatever, if you blocked e.g. port 80 and 443, users will not be able to surf the web at all.

"for instance could they use it and access unblocked sites and not know the proxy part isnt working. or will it block everything"

I don't understand what you mean here. If you blocked it, they can't use it.

ok i need help as im not good with all this as you have noticed lol
my other half uses tor network to access certain site, not porn
not i blocked the one in opendns that i didnt appreciate. but with tor he can access everything still, i needed a way to stop him just accessing the specific sites through tor but not every site through tor. does that make sense?
its complicated i know but not sure how to explain
i tried selecting tor in the router block settings and it didnt actually work

You cannot use OpenDNS to block certain sites only with a proxy like TOR, because proxies generally circumvent OpenDNS as DNS service, but use their own DNS.

Not sure if you can block certain sites within your individual TOR configuration. Better ask this question in a TOR specific forum.
