    We have not been able to access the itunes store on our computers for quite sometime. Did not know why. The error message that would come up on all computers (windows and mac) was: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

    It did not appear to be blocked by Open DNS since I did not get a blocked by Opend DNS message.

    I had put in Never Block for www.itunes.com but that did NOT work.

    Today, I found these four addresses that have to be allowed. I put them into Open Dns as Never block, and now we can access I tunes!!!

    If you use another vendor's Internet filtering software, check the documentation for that software or with the vendor for information on adding the iTunes Store Internet addresses.

    The following iTunes Store Internet addresses should be added as trusted domains to any filtering software that may be running:

    * itunes.apple.com
    * ax.itunes.apple.com
    * albert.apple.com
    * gs.apple.com

    "I had put in Never Block for www.itunes.com but that did NOT work."

    Tip: If a domain is not being blocked in any category you have selected, there is no use adding it to the whitelist. Check: http://www.opendns.com/support/checker/
    Tip: If you didn't want any subdomains of some domain blocked, un-block at the highest level, e.g., itunes.com, not www.itunes.com.

    So, if you don't intend to have any apple.com subdomains blocked, remove all those four domains from your whitelist and add apple.com. (If necessary, because you are blocking a category like Software/Technology).

    Tip: Never add high-level domain names from CDNs, like akamai.net or edgesuite.net - this will break tons of sites and services. See, for example,
    http://domain.opendns.com/ax.itunes.apple.com

    Note how some domains do not have any tags approved themselves, but inherit tags from a parent domain. They also inherit tags from CNAMES (including CNAMES pointing to Content Delivery Networks).
