    I'm a parent that started using OpenDNS about a year or so ago and mainly to block adult sites. I'm finding it strange that even with the adult content block sites such as http://www.pornerbros.com/ are completely available yet some of the ads get blocked. I have actually blocked this site and still its available.

    It isn't strange if your IP address information is not up to date, or if you don't use OpenDNS for your DNS lookups. Only under these circumstances your settings take effect.

    That domain is already tagged in our system. It should be blocked if you're properly configured.

    Try checking your DNS settings and network settings. Afterward, try flushing your web browser caches and DNS resolver caches.

    Is it possible that OpenDNS sells ads on that site and that why its not blocked for me as a free user?

    daltman, OpenDNS' only ad-space is on the OpenDNS Guide. There should be no reason why that domain is not blocked for you.

    Try checking your filtering settings and flushing your web browser caches and DNS resolver caches.

    Does it work now? If not, post the output of the following commands here:
    nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
    nslookup pornerbros.com.
    nslookup www.pornerbros.com.

    @vinman2 & @gaffoor
    Why not open your own thread? Your question is totally off-topic here! :angry:

    I block mine and compliment OPEN DNS with a custom host file from mvps dot org. Any site you don't want can be added to your Hosts file and blocked that way. Just read at Mvps dot org. It was recommended by Kim Komando's show. OPEN DNS should be able to block it though, It works great on blocking Porn on mine. Often, Ill hover my mouse on an ad or link and use that address to block at host file level. There are Videos on You Tube also that show you how to do it.

    OpenDNS blocks some malware domains, including Conficker and IE zero-day exploit domains. It is by no means a replacement for AV and smart browsing.
